XIP-0001: Devnet Phase 1, vNodes

Agreed, that is cheap, but that is definitely not the cost to run bare metal which was what was requested primarily. The $51.99 is for a 24 month commitment which we should not be asking folks to do. Their acceptable use policy leaves some ambiguity as to if they would even allow a blockchain solution on their network too, specifically, the fact that they do not allow IRC type activities which in many ways emulates the types of traffic you would see on a blockchain.

I would be aiming a bit higher though, looking for VPS and bare metal options that closely mirrored that of a production environment. For me, that lands me in the realm of AWS, Linode, Google, and Azure all of which support blockchain related activities when it comes to VPS. My guess is that they cannot support the transaction speeds needed in a VPS configuration, however, their NVME bare metal server can, running $149/mo.

Linode was able to take care of my needs because they have a NVME block storage service, which allowed for the best of both worlds.

$194 would be the spec I think works best on Linode — $338 would be the spec you asked for.

I used the Dedicated 16 in the last DevNet with zero issues and only 1/2 load most days. There were a few days where it would be higher.

The Dedicated 32 would be $338 and probably overkill.
