I support compensating our moderators — but am voting NO because it does not fairly compensate the moderators. The moderators almost singlehandedly have managed the Discord Server for the least 3.5 months. Their time is worth something and if today’s price of XAND is to be used to help calculate that, $700 is just peanuts. Keep in mind these moderators, for the most part, hold the least amount of XAND and yet are holding the water for a silent dev team. Yeah, I think 40K per month is a JOKE considering the time involved. I’m voting no and hope you all demand better from Xandeum, the DAO leadership, and the Dev Team.
FYI – The sever costs have been mostly carried by the community, not the dev team.
Yeah, this is not really on the Dev Team, etc as users are in control over their own accounts and wallets. Great idea, but just not the right folks who need to implement it.
To the person who made the false equivalency remark,
If you go and volunteer feeding the homeless and then they give you some reward, will you demand a bigger reward if you initially did it out of good heart? Stop complaining and support what has been done so far.
This is just beyond the pale and frankly, wrong. The volunteers were solicited by Xandeum to support them during launch. They did that and were overwhelmingly successful during that time, and afterward. This is why they should be compensated at a higher rate and its that kind of wrong headed thought process that continues to hold back this project. Specifically, where it’s okay for Xandeum to prioritize and value the latest investor, and leave the original investors and contributors to the project in the dust.
The moderators efforts helped Xanduem establish tens of millions of dollars in market value. They, long before they became moderators, helped form the community the way it is today. More specifically, they are pretty much the representation for Xandeum from a public perspective.
So — in my eyes — what’s a a few thousand given up to show appreciation. We are not talking tens of thousands, just a bit more than a few hundred dollars.
What is fair is fair…and this entire proposal…and the quite frankly the barriers of entry to being able to submit proposals to the DAO are unfair. The big wallets aren’t doing anything aside just sitting there with their bug happy grins, while the moderately large and small wallets are doing all the work.
So, as one of the selected group of five, I would like to thank all voters (for real). It started without thinking about any rewards, just being active, so this is nice and I am not really trying to convert this to USD in my calculations… and at the moment, there’s not even that much to do. I guess/hope/worry it will change right with release of pNodes.
Also, I don’t consider this position as guaranteed, and if it turns out other people are doing better job, just let them do it.
Yeah, in the meantime, while it is slow before pNodes make things pick up, the moderators can work on the proposed responsibilities and evaluation criteria.
